The Lost Foundry is a fine art bronze casting foundry that specialises in using the traditional lost wax method to create stunning, enduring works of art. The lost wax process
The lost wax method is a casting technique that dates back thousands of years; a process that allows us to create intricate detail and precise finishes in our bronze sculptures.
By creating a mould from the artist’s original sculpture, we can form a wax replica which is encased in a ceramic shell. The wax is then melted away, leaving a hollow form ready for molten bronze.
Each step of the process requires the utmost precision and care, resulting in a final piece that captures every contour and line of the artist’s original sculpture.
