Product Care and Information
Sculptures are finished with a natural wax and will develop a natural patina over time. This is part of the beauty of the bronze process and as a result, all products may look slightly different from the product images due to the handmade and natural processes.
If the metal becomes tarnished simply polish with a soft cloth.
Course Description
A comprehensive 3 day silicone mould making course, covering all the basic techniques used in block moulds and part moulds. By the end of the course you will have gained the confidence you need to tackle your own projects with the skills and techniques we will cover. This course invites anybody that wants to make their own moulds, refresh some skills or simply learn a new craft.

Day 1:
Introduction to mould making and what they’re used for. You will then begin with mould preparation and starting the flow coat. You will also cover shim building and learning about the different ways to do this. By the end of the day you will have completed your fist butter coat (layering of the silicone).
Day 2:
You will start the day by completing the second butter coat on your part mould, thus finishing your rubber silicone mould. You will then have the opportunity to create a block mould and learn the skills and techniques used in this method and why and when they are best to use. You will end the day by preparing your part mould for the fibreglass jacket.
Day 3:
You will learn about the pros of using resin and fibreglass to make a rigid jacket for your silicon mould, how and why different materials are used and why it is necessary to have a rigid jacket. Rich will guide you through the different steps, and by the end of the day you will have a clean, ready to use mould to go home with.
Please come prepared with a sculpture you want to mould. This needs to be a table top sized piece and no bigger than 20cm.
This course leads perfectly into either our 3 day or 5 day Bronze casting course.
Alternatively, you could follow this course with the online resin casting course.
