Services
The Lost Foundry specialises in bronze and a range of other metals and composite resins. We invite you to speak with us today about the specifications of your next piece.
We undertake work for public and private monuments, sculptures for the home, or works for gallery exhibition, working at our studio or on-site depending on the size of the sculpture. We also make body castings, including children’s hands and feet and baby bumps.
Below are examples of the work we commonly undertake and a description of the processes.

Mould making
Silicone is applied to a clay or chevant to pick up the fine details of the sculpture in order to create a hard master.
Casting
Silver, bronze, aluminium, bronze resin and a vast range of other composites upon request.
Metal finishing work
(Chasing & Fettling)
The welding of the components of larger or complex sculptures that must be cast separately, which are then blended to create the final piece.
Patination
We use both hot open pour methods and cold resins to achieve different effects. In the former the bronze is heated, causing the patina to bind itself to the surface of the metal. The two methods are often combined, achieving finishes such as the traditional bronze, marble and stone, etc. The combined techniques enable the creation of any effect to suit the colour scheme set out by the client.
